StaffMD offers the most competitive rates for our staffing services. And best of all, we handle all of the arrangements, including any necessary transportation and lodging. We also provide quality malpractice insurance for our Providers and upon request assist our Providers with obtaining or renewing state licenses and required hospital privileges. We make it easy for you to maintain staff coverage when you have the need.
Every candidate StaffMD works with must first satisfy our stringent requirements for credentials verification and quality management. Using our state-of-art information system, we create profiles for all candidates in our database. This information, which is available to our entire recruitment staff, is a sophisticated tool for monitoring and tracking the quality of our candidates. Once a Client is matched with a potential, the candidate’s credentialing record is reviewed to make sure the Client is comfortable with moving forward. If the Client is for any reason not comfortable with the information in the credentialing file, StaffMD will work quickly to present one or more alternative Providers so the Client can make the best selection for its situation.

All locum tenens Providers, regardless of specialty, working on a StaffMD assignment are covered under StaffMD’s medical malpractice insurance policy. This malpractice insurance is provided at no cost to the Provider, regardless of the state where the Provider may be working. StaffMD’s malpractice insurance policy provides the limits of coverage that meet industry standards with a policy issued by an insurance carrier rated “A” by A.M. Best Company. For each assignment you work through StaffMD, a Certificate of Insurance is issued to the applicable Client facility and the certificate lists you the provider as the person expressly covered by the insurance.
All locum tenens assignments require some level of credentialing. StaffMD requests that all candidates provide a completed application plus at a minimum: current curricula vitae (CV), copies of current state licenses and any board certifications, current DEA certificate, 3 reference letters and a release and waiver agreement. If there are any malpractice incidents reported on the application, additional documentation may be required to better understand the incident or matter.
If an assignment requires hospital privileges, StaffMD will work with the Provider and the Client to expedite this process as much as possible. In all cases, please know that StaffMD is doing all it can to help facilitate you starting your assignment.
All locum tenens Providers who work on an assignment through StaffMD are independent contractors. Accordingly, all fees for your services and reimbursements will be paid to each Provider with no amounts withheld for income or other taxes. StaffMD will provide each Provider, who worked during the year on a StaffMD assignment, an IRS Form 1099 that lists all amounts paid to the Provider during the year. All state and federal taxes associated with amounts paid to the Provider from StaffMD are determined by the Provider as part of his/her individual income tax return.
